The 3-flute AC series of tools is a great all around high performance cutter for aluminum. While producing great finishes just below what the AF series is capable of mustering, it can also be used for roughing and slotting operations. We use these frequently in roughing and finishing operations.
If you need a dedicated solid carbide aluminum rougher, look at the AV3 series of RampMills. If you need the highest quality finishes possible in aluminum, look at the AF4 and AF5 finishers.
